Paris Nord extension works

Modernising the Paris station for a smoother journey
Over the next few months you’ll see various renovations in Paris Gare du Nord, all intended to smooth travellers journeys and give things a timely makeover.

The aim is to open up the space between check-in and the departure lounge to ease the journey through security and passport controls, particularly at busy times.

The first change you’ll notice is our brand new ticket office which opened in October, soon to be followed by improvements to minimise queues through check-in and security.

See what the layout will look like throughtout December and check your new route to check-in.

When are the works taking place?
From October 2011 to May 2012.

How will these works affect my journey?
From 15 December 2011 the only way to access the Eurostar check-in area will be via the stairs and escalator opposite platform 17. If you have restricted mobility you can still use the lifts.

Between December 2011 and February 2012 we would advise you to allow extra time for check-in.

Will check-in times change?
Business Premier and Eurostar™ carte blanche
Wherever possible we will keep 10 minute check-in for Business Premier travellers and Eurostar™ carte blanche holders. Throughout January 2012 however we do expect some queues so we would advise that you allow extra time and look out for the dedicated Business Premier/Eurostar™ carte blanche line at check-in.

Standard and Standard Premier
For Standard and Standard Premier travellers we recommend allowing extra time on top of the normal 30 minute check-in, particularly between December 2011 and February 2012.

Will the check-in process change during the works?
Part of the works will involve moving check-in gates but there will be plenty of signage to direct you. Staff will also be on hand to offer help and answer any questions.

Why are these changes taking place?
The aim is to give you a more seamless experience from check-in, through the departure lounge and on to the train.

The renovations will allow more space, smoother flow from check-in to boarding and a clearer display of information.
