UPDATE TO EUROSTAR SERVICES FOR THURSDAY 24 DECEMBER 2009

23/12/09 @ 16.00

Eurostar will continue to operate services throughout Thursday 24 December to a modified timetable.

We are advising customers with tickets to travel tomorrow to arrive at the station an hour before their original departure time. This will enable Eurostar to allocate seating on the trains and will also minimise queuing for our travellers.

We will also ensure that anyone holding tickets for any day between Saturday 19 December and Wednesday 23 December will also be able to travel.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to passengers and will continue to provide regular updates on www.eurostar.com.

UPDATE ON EUROSTAR SERVICES ON WEDNESDAY 23 DECEMBER 2009

23/12/09 @ 12.50

Eurostar is running services throughout the day today but now advises travellers not to come to St Pancras International this afternoon as all of the available seats for travel today have now been allocated.

We will be running services tomorrow and we are confident that there will be sufficient seats for everyone who wants to travel before Christmas.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to passengers and will continue to provide regular updates.

UPDATE ON EUROSTAR SERVICES ON WEDNESDAY 23 DECEMBER 2009

23/12/09 @ 09.00

Eurostar is running a limited service throughout the day today. Due to the continued backlog of passengers, we still strongly advise those travellers whose journeys are not essential not to travel and rebook or have their ticket refunded.

Our terminals are extremely busy and therefore we cannot accept any further passengers until after 1300 this afternoon.

We will provide a further update this afternoon.

Thank you for your continued understanding during this difficult time.

EUROSTAR SERVICE UPDATEFOR WED 23 & THURS 24 DECEMBER 2009

22/12/09 @ 19.00

The procedures that were put in place to prioritise passengers have worked well and in the course of today the backlog of travellers from the weekend has been cleared.

This has allowed us to amend Tuesday's policy, and therefore customers with tickets for travel between Saturday 19 and Thursday 24 December can now come to the terminal on either Wednesday or Thursday and we will do our best to allocate a seat on the next available train.

Eurostar will continue to operate a restricted service on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 December and trains will be running throughout the day.

More information, including an indicative timetable, will be available on www.eurostar.com from first thing Thursday morning.

UPDATE ON EUROSTAR SERVICES ON TUESDAY 22 DECEMBER 2009

22/12/09 @ 12.30

Eurostar continues to run a restricted service today. The procedures that we put in place to prioritise passengers are working well, with stations steadily managing the backlog of passengers.

While we continue to give priority today to customers holding tickets for travel on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December, in London and Paris we are now accommodating customers who hold a ticket for travel on Monday 21 December.

As this is a restricted service, we recommend that passengers with tickets for travel for Monday 21 December present themselves at station check-in desks no later than 15:00 (local time).

We are monitoring the situation and continue to advise customers whose journeys are not essential not to travel and to change their tickets for travel in the new year or have their tickets refunded.

A further update will be sent later today to confirm services for tomorrow.

UPDATE ON EUROSTAR SERVICES FOR TUESDAY 22 DECEMBER 2009

21/12/09 @ 18.30

Eurostar will be resuming a restricted service from Tuesday 22nd December. Trains will run between 07:30 and 18:00.

The priority is now to help those travellers who have been waiting with a ticket to travel over the weekend. Therefore, customers will only be eligible for travel on Tuesday 22nd December if they hold a ticket originally booked for Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th December.

Please advise all customers not to go to a Eurostar terminal on Tuesday if this does not apply.

Travellers holding a ticket for Monday 21st or Tuesday 22nd will be eligible for travel on Wednesday 23rd. Those with a ticket for Wednesday 23rd or Thursday 24th will be eligible for travel on Thursday 24th.

Please note, we still strongly advise all customers whose journeys are not essential to rebook for a date in the new year.

We do not advise customers to attempt to travel independently via the channel ports or Channel Tunnel as these means of transport are now operating at full capacity.

Once again, we apologise for the continued disruption and the effect this has on you and your customers. Further updates will follow tomorrow.

EUROSTAR UPDATE

21/12/09 @ 14.00

Eurostar has been conducting a series of test-runs to ensure that the modifications that it has been making to the trains are working effectively.

The test-runs that have been conducted this morning have worked well and if the later test runs are similarly successful, we will be resuming a limited service tomorrow.

As there is a backlog of travellers who were due to travel over the weekend, we continue to strongly advise customers not to travel and to change their tickets for travel in the New Year or have them refunded.

We will send a eurostar4agents news as soon as we have details of which services will be operating. Please refer to www.eurostar.com for further information.

EUROSTAR SERVICE UPDATE

21/12/09 @ 10.00

Eurostar will not be operating services today, Monday 21 December, in light of heavy snowfall in northern France.

As a result of the test runs that were conducted yesterday, we now understand the cause of the disruption over the weekend and have identified the modifications that are required.

As we suspected, the acute weather conditions in northern France have caused the disruption. Every year we carry out a ‘winterisation' programme of the entire fleet which to date has successfully protected our trains. We now know, however, that we need to further enhance the snow screens and snow shields in the power cars of the trains.

We have already started making the modifications and to ensure that these new protection measures work effectively we are conducting a further series of test runs today. Our priority is ensuring that when we resume services we provide our customers with a robust and reliable operation.

We sincerely regret having to take this decision and we understand how frustrated and disappointed travellers will be, particularly those who have been waiting to travel for the last three days.

We strongly advise passengers whose travel is non-essential to change their booking to a later date or claim a refund on their tickets. We will provide further details on the claim process shortly.

For customers who have been unable to travel over the last few days, Eurostar will cover the cost of out-of pocket expenses, for example, hotels and taxis. Full details of our compensation policy are on www.eurostar.com

Due to the current high call volumes to eurostar4agents, this line is currently unavailable and we are currently working hard to make sure lines are up and running as soon as possible.

We will provide a further update on our services by 18.00 (GMT) today, Monday 21 December 2009.

EUROSTAR SERVICES SUSPENDED ON SUNDAY 20 DECEMBER

20/12/09

Eurostar has confirmed that on account of the continuing severe weather conditions in northern France it will not be running any services today (Sunday 20 December 2009).

Following the disruption to its services over the last 36 hours, Eurostar does not want to cause its travellers any further disruption and will be conducting a programme of ‘test-trains' today to better understand the problems that have been occurring.

We are committed to restoring our services as soon as possible but our key priority is the safety and comfort of our customers.

We are advising travellers to change their tickets for travel on a later date or have their tickets refunded.

Travellers who suffered major delays on their train services Friday night will be offered £150 compensation per passenger in addition to a refund on their tickets and a free return ticket.

Any passengers who were scheduled to travel yesterday or today (Sunday) can exchange their tickets for travel on a later date or have their tickets refunded.

A further update will be provided later today on www.eurostar.com.

EUROSTAR TIMETABLES AND TICKET WALLETS

24/06/09

As part of our Tread Lightly initiative to minimise our impact on the environment, Eurostar has committed to reduce paper usage wherever possible. Last year we reduced our paper usage by 28% compared to 2007, saving 1.4 million sheets. To take this one step further, from 5 July 2009, we will no longer be producing printed timetables or ticket wallets. Instead, customers will be able to download the timetable online from either www.eurostar.com or www.eurostar4agents.com.

By removing printed timetables and ticket wallets Eurostar will be saving another 87 tons of paper or over 650 trees each year! Luggage tags will still be available to travellers on request from each ticket office, at check-in, in the Business Premier Lounge and from the on-board crew.

Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 with any queries.

CHANGES TO AGENT CONCESSION FARES

LEISURE SELECT FROM LILLE ON INBOUND DISNEY SERVICE

29/05/09

Following customer feedback, Leisure Select will no longer be available for sale on the inbound Disney train 9057 from Lille Europe to Ashford International or St Pancras International with immediate effect. Standard class from Lille Europe, however, will still be available for sale on this service.

Feedback has highlighted that the Leisure Select product offering on this evening service is tailored for the Disney market and may differ from the intercapital services, so the move ensures consistency across our classes of service.

Please note that both Leisure Select and Standard classes are available for sale on the outbound Disney train 9074 from St Pancras International and Ashford International to Lille Europe. Leisure Select customers will be offered a hot breakfast, however champagne will not be available on this service.

Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 with any queries.

CHANGES TO PUBLIC FARE RANGE

  • There will be a slight increase in the Business Premier and Standard class semi-flexible fares and the Brussels fully flexible one way fare.
  • As a result of the continued investment in Leisure Select, there will be a slight increase to this class of service across all fares.
  • Please note that Business Premier and Standard class fully flexible return fares will not change.

EUROSTAR RESTORES FASTER SERVICES FROM 23 FEBRUARY 2009

20/01/09

From 23 February 2009 Eurostar will return to a normal timetable with all services operating at full speed, and fastest non-stop journey times of London - Paris 2h15, London - Brussels 1h51 and London - Lille 1h20.  There will be more trains, with up to 19 services per day on the London - Paris route and up to 10 on the London - Brussels route.

From 23 February 2009 the increased number of services will lead to some services departing earlier and some later than under the current timetable.
