TIMETABLE REMINDER
14/10/08
Just a quick reminder that following the incident in the Channel Tunnel in September 2008, Eurostar is operating an amended timetable.
Please be aware however that the amended service has departures up to 45 minutes earlier or later than the original timetable so anyone who made bookings before the new timetable was implemented on 1 October 2008 should be advised of the amended timings.
Importantly, please take note of the following last trains of the day.
London – Paris: 19:39
London – Brussels: 19:30
Paris – London: 20:50
Brussels – London: 21:02
Please pay particular attention to the last train from St Pancras to Paris, which leaves at 19:39 daily and not 20:05; there is also no 20:35 service on a Sunday. As I’m sure you’ll appreciate, a slightly shorter day in London is preferable to an extra night at St Pancras (lovely though it is)!
Once again, thanks for your continued patience and support.
Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 with any queries.
EUROSTAR SERVICE UPDATE: NORMAL CHECK-IN PROCEDURES RESUME
08/10/08
We are pleased to inform you that following the incident in the Channel Tunnel in September our normal check-in procedures have been reinstated.
Since the incident we have had to operate a first-come first-served check-in due to the fact that the majority of tickets did not match the amended timetable that we had to put in place.
With normal check-in resumed, all tickets will be valid so all travellers will have reserved seating and normal check-in times will apply.
Please be aware however that the amended service has departures up to 45 minutes earlier or later than the original timetable so anyone with bookings made before the new timetable was implemented on October 1st should be advised of the amended timings.
Below are two links to view the breakdown of how the amended timetable varies from the original one, as an easy reference for communicating this information.
To view amendments to trains departing the U.K click here, and for trains departing the continent click here.
We appreciate that the manual check-in process has been far from the quality we would like to provide and are glad that we can now make this improvement to our service.
Once again, thanks for your continued patience and support.
Please contact Eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 with any queries.
URGENT TRAIN TIMINGS UPDATE (DISNEY)
01/10/08
Please note that as from today the Direct Disney Service will depart London St Pancras International at 08:35 (Ashford 0903, Lille 11:27) arriving Marne La Vallee at 12:30.
The return service will depart Marne La Vallee at 20:13 (Ashford 21.37) and London 22:13.
Please ensure travellers are aware of these changes, especially the earlier departure of the morning service and the later inbound arrival to London which may affect onward journeys.
Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 for any further information.
GDS UPDATE FURTHER TO SYSTEM CHANGE
01/10/08
Yesterday we confirmed that the new timetable loaded for sale as from Wednesday 1st October (today) would not be visible on any of the GDS screens until Friday 3rd October.
In practice this means that between now and this Friday, you will still see the old timetable on your GDS screens. However, when selecting a service, the booking will be automatically reallocated onto the new timetable and will be ticketed with the new train time.
Once again, thanks for your continued patience and support.
Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 for any further information.
Important update to yesterdays information
30/09/08
Further to our announcement yesterday regarding an increase in our operation as of Wednesday 1 October following the incident in the Channel Tunnel on Thursday 11 September, we are pleased to confirm that the new timetable will be available for sale tomorrow.
As a reminder, this will mean:
16 trains in each direction between London-Paris
9 trains in each direction between London-Brussels
1 daily return service to Disneyland Paris
Please note that journey times will be at least 20 minutes longer than we normally operate.
The reservation system will be closed tonight from 23.00 (BST) whilst it is updated and will open for sale from 05.00 (BST) tomorrow morning.
Due to the fact that travellers will still have bookings on trains that do not relate to this timetable, we will continue with the manual check-in process for the time being. All travellers with existing bookings should turn up in good time to check in for the trains as shown on their tickets, and will be put on the next available service.
Once we have reopened sales, the availability shown in ELGAR will be accurate; therefore anyone with a reservation made after 0500 tomorrow will be able to travel on the train booked. Please also note that these changes will not be seen on your GDS screens until Friday 3rd October.
Business Premier Travellers and carte blanche members will be a priority and Fast Track is operating to ensure they are checked in as quickly as possible.
Please be aware that with the new timetable, the last trains of the day between London and Paris will be departing earlier than normal, so check-in will close at 18.45 in the UK and 20.00 in Paris. Brussels remains unchanged
The Disney service will be departing earlier from the UK (08.35) and later from France (20.13) so please contact all existing travellers and inform them of this new timing.
As there is no clear indication of when the tunnel will be fully back in operation, we are anticipating that this timetable will be in place for some months. However, with 93% of our regular schedule in operation we are confident our travellers will experience a near normal service.
View the timetable effective 01 Oct 08 here
Once again, thanks for your continued patience and support.
Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 with any queries.
EUROSTAR SERVICE UPDATE: NEW TIMETABLE AS OF 1 OCTOBER
29/09/08
Further to the incident in the Channel Tunnel on Thursday 11 September we are pleased to announce that there will be further improvements to our operations this week.
As of Wednesday 1 October, we will have another section of the Northbound tunnel handed back from Eurotunnel, allowing us to increase the number of services that we can operate to:
16 trains in each direction between London-Paris
9 trains in each direction between London-Brussels
1 daily return service to Disneyland Paris
This means that we are able to run 93% of our regular schedule, although journey times remain longer. View the timetable effective 01 Oct 08 here.
Due to the fact that travellers will have bookings on trains that do not relate to this transitional timetable, we will continue to operate with the manual check-in process until Tuesday 4 November. We would ask that all travellers continue to turn up in good time for the train as stated on their tickets so they can be accommodated on the next available service.
Business Premier Travellers and Carte Blanche members continue to be a priority and Fast Track is operating to ensure they are allocated seating on the train of their choice.
Carte blanche members will continue to receive double points until the new timetable is in operation.
We are working on updating our systems so that bookings can match the revised timetable and hope to have this in place as soon as possible. We will come back to you shortly to confirm timings.
Once again, thanks for your continued patience and support.
Please contact eurostar4agents at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or on 08448 224334 with any queries.
Eurostar Services: Update
26/09/08 @ 17.00
Futher to the announcement last Friday that we will be increasing the number of trains between London and Paris from 12 to 15, we are pleased to inform you that we now have additional capacity for the coming weekend (26-28 Sept).
All other emergency procedures apply, such as manual check-in on a first come first served basis and operating with the revised timetable. A spreadsheet displaying the new timings and which trains are on sale over the weekend can be viewed here.
Please contact Eurostar4agents with any queries on 08448 224334 or via email at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk
Update on Eurostar Services
18/09/08 @ 18.00
As you are aware, since last week’s incident in the Channel Tunnel, we continue to run a restricted timetable with fewer services, extended journey times and potentially longer waiting times in our terminals.
We have managed to successfully operate around 60% of our services since the Southbound tunnel opened last Saturday and thanks to travellers who have either cancelled or exchanged their tickets, we have so far achieved our objective of ensuring that those people who needed to travel were able to do so.
Business Premier Travellers and carte blanche holders continue to be a priority and Fast Track is operating although is subject to some delays during the peak times.
Demand on weekends (Friday-Sundays) remains extremely high and we are continuing to advise travellers with tickets for the 19-21 Sept and 26-28 Sept not to travel.
The good news is that we are anticipating being able to increase the number of services we operate next week. We are therefore able to release a limited number of tickets for sale for travel Mon-Thursday next week (22-25 Sept).
As you can appreciate our contact centres are experiencing particularly high call volumes. We would therefore urge you to email any queries to Eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk and we will endeavour to respond to you as quickly as possible.
Anyone with an existing booking for travel during these dates (22-25 Sept) can travel using their original ticket, regardless of whether it has already been exchanged.
However, travellers may still obtain a refund or exchange if they choose not to travel at this time.
We hope to continue to improve the number of services we are operating during the coming days and promise to keep you informed as developments happen.
Below is a list of trains showing which trains are being opened for sales. These will be available from 08:00 (UK time) Friday 19 September.

Service Disruption: Exchanges and Refunds
17/09/08 @ 14.00
You will be aware that Eurostar is currently operating a restricted service following last week's fire in the Channel Tunnel, with longer journey times and intervals of several hours between some trains.
With this limited capacity, we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate all travellers and anticipate extended waiting times which could be up to several hours particularly during the next two weekends (Sept 19 - 21 and 26-28). Therefore Eurostar would like to encourage you to be contacting your travellers and advising them to rebook for a later date or cancel their journey unless travel is essential for these periods.
Any exchanges of non-flexible tickets originally booked for travel between 11-30 September, will be permitted at no extra cost. As these are outside of the normal fare conditions, these will need to be processed by our Eurostar4agents team.
Similarly, all cancellations of non-flexible tickets originally booked for travel between 11-30 September, will be permitted. These will also be processed by the Eurostar4agents team. Cancelled tickets will need to be returned via mail before refunds are processed.
Both refunds and exchanges can be made up to 60 days from the date of travel for dates within the 4-month booking horizon.
As we are sure you can appreciate, despite introducing additional phone lines and extra team members in an attempt to cope with the demand, we are anticipating extremely high call volumes during the coming days. We would therefore ask you to contact us ideally via email at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk. If you do need to contact us by phone do call 08448 224334 but please bear with us whilst we do our best to manage as many requests as swiftly as possible.
We would like to thank you for your continued understanding and support.
UPDATE ON EUROSTAR SERVICES
16/09/08 @ 11.30
Following the fire in the Channel Tunnel last Thursday we were able to re-start operations on Saturday. We are currently running a restricted timetable with fewer services, longer journey times and intervals of several hours between some trains. Our trains are close to full or sold out until the end of September.
Attached is the revised timetable that we will be operating to until further notice.
Please advise all travellers with any journey between Friday 19 September and Sunday 21 September and between Friday 26 September and Sunday 28 September not to travel unless their journey is absolutely essential as we anticipate extended waiting times which could be up to several hours.
Anyone deciding not to travel until Tuesday 30 September can get a refund or free exchange up to 60 days from the date of travel.
We are currently employing a manual check-in process with a first come first serve basis which could mean waiting sometime before boarding and journey times being significantly longer. Anyone deciding to still travel should check-in based on the train times shown on their ticket and we will endeavour to accommodate them on the next available train. Fast track has now re-opened so we are prioritising Carte Blanche members and Business Premier travellers.
As we are not operating the last trains of the day, check-in will close significantly earlier than usual:
- London check-in will close as 1845 (BST) until further notice
- Paris check-in will close at 2000 (CET) until further notice
- Brussels check-in will close at 2030 (CET) until further notice
Please ensure that your travellers are made aware of these revised times.
The direct daily service to Disneyland Paris is operating a nearly normal service (albeit with an adjusted timetable and longer journey times) and is still open for sale.
Eurotunnel, the operator of the Channel Tunnel, is working hard to enable additional Eurostar services to be restored following the fire and we will keep you updated as the situation improves. We are hoping that a nearly normal service will be resumed from the beginning of October.
We are experiencing extremely high call volumes at the contact centre and are aware that the Eurostar4agents desk is struggling to cope with the number of queries. Please email us at eurostar4agents@eurostar.co.uk or contact your Eurostar Account Manager and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
We would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
